Hyacinth Park Gardens

2005

Three earth mounds in the shapes of ancient symbols that represented the underlying theme of ‘working together brings new life’; sixteen gardens, three sculptural steel & oak benches, three cast concrete milk-can stools. Hyacinth residents participated in various phases of design and implementation.

The gardens cover about a 100 foot triangle at one corner of the park. Benches, stools, mounds and garden shapes reflect the characteristics and the spirit of the Hyacinth neighborhood in the Slavic Village area of Cleveland, OH.

This project was made possible through numerous agencies including Slavic Village Development, ParkWorks, and an Ohio Arts Council Artists and Communities grant.
