Laila Voss - Multi-Media Arist
Laila Voss creates multi-media installations, performances, sculptures, and images that are inspired by the urban environment, the creative cycle and the interior landscape of the human psyche.
She has exhibited in the United Sates and abroad. Her work has been featured in several major art institutions such as the Akron Art Museum, the Cleveland Museum of Art, and MOCA Cleveland. She has been the recipient of numerous commissions, residencies, and grants including several awards from the Ohio Arts Council, the University of Akron Myers School of Art, the Headlands Center for the Arts and the FCCA Prague, Czech Republic. Her work is part of the Progressive Collection as well as several others.
Voss has curated exhibitions and completed a number of public art projects in the Cleveland area. Recent exhibitions include a solo show at the William Busta Gallery and a group exhibition in Columbus, OH. Currently she is preparing for a two-person exhibition opening in June 2014. Laila Voss is active on SPACES’ board and is a senior lecturer at the University of Akron Myers School of Art. She has also taught at numerous other colleges and universities in the region. She received her BFA from Ohio University and her MFA from Kent State University.
