Baltic Children’s Park

120′ x 420′ overall. Sound wave patterns were incorporated into and onto most surfaces in the park: the rubberized safety surface under the play equipment, the paved areas, the backboard, a large electric utility pole, as well as the earth itself at the far end of the park. The sounds originated from the site via recordings and wave pattern interpretations (train whistle, bouncing ball, etc.) 

Local children helped with designing and painting various surfaces including the trash-cans and picnic tables, with stencils, outdoor paint and spray paint. The second artist of the two- artist team for the project was Jef Scharf. The City of Cleveland and Cleveland Public Art commissioned this park.
