In the Center, Unable to Hear, Unable to Speak

Overall size: 293 cm x 444cm x 432cm. Column in center: 243cm x 61cm x 90cm, (app. 96″H x 19″ x 36″). Street and sidewalk rubbings on vellum with graphite, charcoal, powdered pigment; Czech language books, journals, thirty-minute audio track composed of recordings of my own disparate language lessons.
The windows in the studio were covered with charcoal filled vellum with letters and words erased out. This installation and the performance listed previously were companion pieces. FCCA Prague, Czech Republic and Columbus, OH.
